This makes no sense at all. How on earth would the rear lcd being on make you produce rubbish photos?
Also, when you put the camera to your eye the rear lcd turns off unless you have it set to remain on always.
But you can't turn off live view. The R5 has the option to do this (option 6 in the screen info options), but the R6 does not.
If you want a blank screen you have to turn it off completely, so it won't even work when you flip it out, without changing the settings. Note, even though there is an 'info' button to cycle through screen options, you cannot use this button to turn on/off the rear screen.
Even the R6 II is lacking this simple feature, so neither the R6 nor R6 II will behave like a DSLR unless you make the camera harder to use. Such a shame.
So you purchased a mirrorless camera and you're disappointed that it is different than a dslr?
Also, image review is rubbish for some reason. Never looks sharp. All in all, though it has great IBIS and I love the size and weight of it, I still prefer my 5D4.
I love optical viewfinders, so I'd try the R6II if it had the blank screen option. But since it doesn't, the only mirrorless that might work for me is the R3 with the OVF simulation feature, or the as-yet unavailable R5 II.
Even if it had the blank screen option it still wouldn't have an optical viewfinder, same with the R3.
This is a strange post...
