Re: Moving from Canon M system

Thanks, everyone.

@davesurrey. You hit the nail on the head. I am in "analysis-paralysis" mode.

On the one hand, I would like a system to be light, so I am more inclined to carry it; on the other, I have noticed that on occasion, I have to push the ISO to 5000 and even 6400 to capture anything, even if it is grainy. Meanwhile, with each iteration, mobile phone cameras improve.

I am not enamoured with the latest technology, nor does my audience (friends and family) care what camera or lens was used.

Outside of the 50/1.4, I don't use any other EF/EF-S equipment. The 24-105/4, for example, is 700 gms. The 17-55/2.8 EFS and 70-300/4-5.6 EF are each over 600 gms.

So one part of my paralysis is whether I should sell my seldom-used EF and EFS equipment (B&H used gives an estimate of $1800). The second part is whether I should bother with the RF-S or RF systems. The former might not have Canon's wholehearted support, and the latter might not be much lighter than the EF system it replaces.

I already eliminated Fuji since they do not have a light (sub 250gm) wide-angle zoom (16-35 in FF equivalence) and Sony since their 6000 series are dated, and the ZVE10 is missing an EVF.
