Hi all,

Can anyone with an R6II tell me whether it is possible to have a black screen from pressing the info button on the R6 II please?

This is an option since a firmware update with the R5, but it was left out the R6, forcing many users to find a workaround, including simply closing the screen which I have done.

Closing the screen is not ideal for me, so does anyone know if the option is there on the R6 II?

Thanks.

It doesn’t have it. My suggestion to you is to cycle your info button to the shooting settings screen. That way you won’t see the image, which addresses your issue of not wanting to see the composition. It’s also mostly dark so not too distracting, and you can still see the review (if you’ve set it to review) on the LCD without having to re-open it from closed. I have my RP and R10 set like this, and my R5 on blank screen, and the difference doesn’t bother me unduly.
