Canon has actually managed to diminish my love of photography.

Unless you have loads of time and money sitting around, the switch from EF to RF has been mostly a time and dollar suck without really much payback. I'm not talking about the shift to mirrorless. That has been good. But the concomitant shift to RF lenses has been, on whole, just a pain in the neck and a pain in the wallet.

So why not stay with DSLRs - and enjoy just as before the mirrorless was invented?

I'm at the point where just saying no is quite appealing.

Just do that

I'm not buying anymore RF lenses, and Canon's decision to shut out third party lenses has solidified my decision.

Academic - there aren't any

So I'm using the EF lenses still. It sucks to use these with an adapter,

Why?  They work seamlessly - and with all but the smallest lenses, not even noticeable in use.

but the RF versions are just too expensive, and they don't offer enough to make the expenditure worthwhile.
