Canon has actually managed to diminish my love of photography.

Unless you have loads of time and money sitting around, the switch from EF to RF has been mostly a time and dollar suck without really much payback. I'm not talking about the shift to mirrorless. That has been good. But the concomitant shift to RF lenses has been, on whole, just a pain in the neck and a pain in the wallet.

I'm at the point where just saying no is quite appealing.

I'm not buying anymore RF lenses, and Canon's decision to shut out third party lenses has solidified my decision.

So I'm using the EF lenses still. It sucks to use these with an adapter, but the RF versions are just too expensive, and they don't offer enough to make the expenditure worthwhile.

I haven't found a real need yet to buy any RF lenses. I have an adapter permanently mounted to my three R bodies, so that transition has been painless. I'm not under any pressure to buy RF lenses, although that 70-200 is very alluring.

I went through the horrendous big bang transition from FD to EF that left my FD lens collection completely unusable, so I'm playing the tiniest violin in the world in sympathy for you now.
