Navinadvani,
Please don’t take this as rude, which it isn’t meant to be, but I feel that after 4 pages of advice in this thread you don’t seem to have made much, if any, progress in your decision making.

There is an English expression which says “can’t see the wood for the trees” and another one which says “paralysis by analysis.” So I think it might be better if you take a step back from all this analysis and think about some fundamentals.

Here are some questions.
1.I am assuming that, within reason, money is not a deciding factor. Correct?

2.You have mentioned weight far more than most people usually do in their analysis and say you want a system less than 1.5kgm. If this is very important to you then currently this takes an RF system and to some extent a Fuji system out of the running, as their lenses add a lot of weight and size compared with some other systems.

3.You have a lot of lenses already so you need to weigh up if you are prepare to walk away from Canon, as both the RF and EF-M systems can accommodate your EF and EF-S lenses albeit with adapters. Are you willing to throw away this Canon advantage?

4.There is of course a size vs IQ issue which you need to decide upon. If you want large aperture and fast AF lenses then, in general, you will pay a penalty in cost, size and weight. So how much is low weight still an important issue?

5.You have an EF-M system already which can use your EF and EF-S lenses as well as third party ones. Something which many EF-M detractors who say there are few Canon EF-M lenses seem to ignore. In fact not only have Canon not produced many EF-M lenses but there are few RF-S lenses either and Canon have so far refused other manufacturers from making them. A potential limiting factor in going RF-S.

6.How much is “new tech” important to you? For example do you want or need the best AF, IBIS, highest MP?

I write this as someone who has been struggling over the last couple of years myself as to what system to focus on, not helped as every time I make a decision it seems that new cameras are launched which change the balance. But fed up with my procrastination I have made a decision recently, based on considerations above. And that is to expand out my EF-M system as it strikes the right balance FOR ME plus going from DSLRs and MFT to R bodies but keeping my EF lenses for specific tasks.

But considering what I understand are your requirements I would throw a curved ball into this discussion and say why not go MFT? The range of lenses is large and many are lightweight and well-priced. There is a wide range from cheap and cheerful to expensive and hi IQ. And it’s possible to get to your weight limits with a decent system.

I’d be interested in your response.
Dave
