If you are planning on shooting kids then I don't think that using only lenses with STM AF will get the job done on a consistent basis. Lenses like the RF 24-240mm and RF 100-400mm have the same nano USM focusing as the L lenses. The RF 24-240mm is definitely a lens I think you should have available. Its IQ is not far off from the RF 24-105mmL. Where it really shines is regarding its zoom range. You can go from wide angle to 240mm in less than a second and this allows one to take a huge number of excellent photos that would be lost while swapping lenses. The same goes for the RF 100-400mm as it has Canon's best AF system too. I have the RF 85mm f/2.0 and when the focus range is limited with the settings on the lens, its AF isn't all that bad for most use cases. If I were in your situation I would buy the R6/2 or R8, the RF 24-240mm, RF 100-400mm, RF 85mm f/2 and the RF 35mm f/2. Use them for a while and then add the L lenses, or others, as needed. Plus, you can buy the four lenses I mentioned for not much more than the RF 50mm f/1.2.
