Honestly, I don't know if I notice ANY difference with IBIS versus the IS on my DSLRs in the past. I just don't see it. For me, IBIS is almost useless, as I shoot almost exclusively above 200mm where IBIS really loses its effectiveness.

So, me personally, disabling IBIS is not a big deal. I really couldn't care less. I assume there is a little value for me in saving power, but again, not much gain there. For others, I can definitely see a value to disabling the linkage to cure the warping.

Fair enough, you are probably not getting very much out of it. Especially if you are using stabilized EF lenses, too.

For me, on the other hand, IBIS makes a huge difference. I shoot a lot of Sigma Art-series primes (which are not stabilized), and I also love the RF 85mm f/1.2 (no IS either). The lenses I use the majority of the time are the ones that benefit the most from IBIS, and it's been excellent.

Still, of course, these cameras are generalist tools, not entirely specialist ones, so there are features for most of us that we don't use a ton.
