Some of you may know I have been looking to add a third body to my gear. I currently have an R5 and an R7. What it is coming down to is that I like to keep the RF100-500 on my R7 for quick bird shots when the opportunity strikes. My R5 I use more for landscapes and more as a general camera. The thing is there are times I want to use my R7 with the RF70-200 and even the RF 18-150. It does a great job with both of those lenses. Now, call me lazy, but I hate to always have to switch out the RF100-500 from the R7 especially if a bird shot presents itself. By the time I switch back lenses the bird is gone.
I really want the convenience of having three bodies setup as I will most likely need them with minimal lens switching. I tried the R10 for this however it just didn't have the power of the R7.
Interesting - I have the R5, R7 , R10 M6II - and the R10 for me fits my needs perfectly when shooting CRAW on a fast memory card - no issues. It does have a limited buffer on full raw + jpeg but really like it with same AF and controls (in fact prefer the controls on the R10 to the R7).
The R8 would be a no go for me as too slow and no AF joystick.
So for me in your case would be a R7 or a mint discounted dealer warranty R6 mark 1.
I really don't see that the R8 or R6ii make sense, since I shoot a lot of birds. So, logically it seems to make sense to add another R7 to my kit. I am just having a pause about adding a second body of the same type, although in my mind it seems to make the most sense.
The cost isn't an issue, fortunately.
So any thoughts appreciated. I guess I'm looking for a little push.... Thanks
Great - So suggest a 500 f/4 II - or even a RF 600 IIIĀ
