Some of you may know I have been looking to add a third body to my gear. I currently have an R5 and an R7. What it is coming down to is that I like to keep the RF100-500 on my R7 for quick bird shots when the opportunity strikes. My R5 I use more for landscapes and more as a general camera. The thing is there are times I want to use my R7 with the RF70-200 and even the RF 18-150.

I'm wondering if the 18-150mm is worth it to add another crop camera.

It does a great job with both of those lenses. Now, call me lazy, but I hate to always have to switch out the RF100-500 from the R7 especially if a bird shot presents itself. By the time I switch back lenses the bird is gone.

I really want the convenience of having three bodies setup as I will most likely need them with minimal lens switching.

I have one peak design capture on one backpack strap, and one peak design capture on the other. For me two cameras is the maximum.  When I need to carry three cameras there will be always too much hassle, even if I don't need to change lenses. What's your plan for managing three cameras?

I tried the R10 for this however it just didn't have the power of the R7. I really don't see that the R8 or R6ii make sense, since I shoot a lot of birds. So, logically it seems to make sense to add another R7 to my kit. I am just having a pause about adding a second body of the same type, although in my mind it seems to make the most sense. The cost isn't an issue, fortunately.

So any thoughts appreciated. I guess I'm looking for a little push.... Thanks

You could consider the 24-240mm for your R5. Folks are reporting the IQ of this lens is pretty good between 28 and 150mm or so. I think it will likely do a better job on your R5 compared to the 18-150mm on a (second) R7. At 160mm the 100-500 on the R7 can take over, so that solves any possible IQ issues at focal lengths longer than 160mm.

If cost isn't an issue and you really think a three camera setup will work for you I would add another R5 as that will give you the best IQ.   24-105mm on R5(A), 70-200mm on R5(B), and 100-500 on the R7.
