Longtime (since 19881) Nikon user and I just switched to Canon R7.

Any good set-up and guide videos you all can recommend? How about books?

I have downloaded the manual but I'd like a "Cliff Notes" version of the massive 963 page manual.

Thanks in advance,

Jeff

Practical tips:

Records to each of the two cards separately, so that your raw and JPEGs are saved in different SD cards. Choose a V90 SD card. Prograde is better than Lexar. SanDisk is not bad as well.

Shoot on EFCS for reduced shutter shock.

If you shoot videos, here's a fair warning: While the R7 gives you multiple options and spoils you with fps choices, the menu can drive you nuts. For example, you choose 4k fine then want to switch to 4k or 4k cropped, you won't be able to do so unless the frame rate selected is available in the new mode you are choosing. So you will end up going back to the old mode, just to guess then select which fps rates work with the new mode you are choosing.
