Why are native lenses important to you? Is it the presence of the adapter making it less convenient, or do you believe there are compatibility issues, the fact that wide angle lenses on the EF mount can't take advantage of the shorter flange distance, or something else? Without understanding why you personally consider it important, it's hard to answer.

I can only answer for myself but I definitely dislike using the adapter. It make the lenses larger (in some cases, much larger) and heavier. They also cause balancing issues with longer and heavier lenses.

I use an adapter with my 500 mm f/4L II. I can't even detect the weight of, or any balancing issues using the lens handheld. When I mount the on a gimbal or monopod, I simple mark the balance point on the plate and without a TC (since the adapter is now tied to the lens). Thus, putting it on and getting balance is simple and quick every time.

+1.

Adapters to me are absolutely no issue with long lenses - its the small lenses where a slight difference in R mount - and much more so in EFM mount.
