I'm new to Canon and am not that bothered. Whilst it would be nice (I mean who would oppose it?) I got a free Canon EF adapter with my R7. That means I can buy and use the range of EF  lenses (which is all I would have had if I'd have bought a 7D mkII) plus any RF lenses available now. There are bound to be more across the range. No Company is going to bring out 50 in one year! As a largely bird photographer I thought the 100-400mm, 100-500mm, 600mm and 800mm F11 was a reasonable selection in the lower price range to start off with leaving plenty of the previous legacy lenses as well. UWA is a bit more tricky but it seems that most of the recent 3rd party can be had MF in RF mount or again adapted EF. Yes, there are some not bothering with Canon any more but I can live with that and in years to come no doubt there will be a completely new and better system from someone!
