Re: New to Canon R7 - put it another way

Why would you spend good money on a new camera if your highest goal is to make it behave like older cameras?

If I gave that impression, it was lack of clarity on my part.  I am not trying to make the new camera behave like my old camera.  What I am trying to learn would be a few things:

1: different names Canon uses for the same thing as Nikon (example, Canon calls it TV priority where Nikon calls it Shutter Priority) but there are others.

2: the interplay between the different configuration settings and how changing setting "A" may impact setting "B".

3: for others who shoot similar subjects as I do, what settings and customizations have worked well.  Not that I would necessarily be setting it the same but it is good to learn from others who have already been through trial and error.

4: lastly, yes, some settings I used on my old cameras worked very well for me and I am interested in learning which, if any, may be carried over to the new camera, what still makes sense in the new world and what I need to re-think.

Again, if anything I said came off as having a "highest" goal or any goal of making the new camera behave like the old one, it was lack of clarity on my behalf.
