ETTR by 2/377 to ! EV: is that -or + exposure compensation?

Watch the histogram as you turn the EV dial, all will be revealed...

Oh, I didn't know that turning the EV dial has an influence on the histogram And you do not answer my question, do you?

Apologies, yes, it does. So let me be more specific:

- set your camera to automatic.

- Make sure the display (LCD) is set to show the histogram.

- Point camera at a scene and turn the EV dial

- The histogram will shift according to the direction you turn the dial

+ moves it to the right...

- moves it to the left...

Guys, I perfectly well know what ETTR is, since many years, and how to set the camera to show it, including the RGB histogram, or not. And I hardly ever use the cameras in automatic, but in A priority and manual ISO. So no need to use the EC dial. But I was not sure about the term "ETTR 2/3 to 1 EV". As I answered Bob, I now know that it means 2/3 to 1 EV overexposure. I am all good.
