Re: Moving from Canon M system

Thank you, everyone - many, many thanks. I cannot multi-quote and thank each of you individually, but I did read every suggestion.

One of the reasons the thought of trading in my old gear for new gear came up was because I live in India. To trade in any gear, I would have to travel to the US, and I plan to do so (for other reasons) in May. The idea was to take my gear to B&H photo in NYC and trade it in for a step up.

As it stands, the M system more than suffices my needs. I am over 60 with a bad back, so very sensitive to any extra weight. So much so that I could not find a sling bag small enough, so I repurposed a generic sling with some inserts to build my camera bag. I can post the links to this bag here, but it's only available in India (for less than $10). I got the inserts for about $30.

I intend to keep my current system:

Canon M50 (24MP) - 390 gms
Canon EF-M 22mm f/2.0 - 105gm
Canon EF-M 11-22mm f/4-5.6 IS STM - 220gms (my primary lens)
Canon EF-M 32mm f/1.4 STM - 235gms
Canon EF-M 15-45mm f/3.5-6.3 IS STM - 130gms
Canon EF-M 55-200mm f/4.5-6.3 IS STM - 260gms

Question: Should I upgrade from the M50 to the M50II? Canon doesn't seem to be in any hurry to add to the M system lineup.

Canon also seems very slow in releasing RF glass and even slower with RF-S glass. It almost seems like Canon isn't very interested in supporting the RF-S system for the long term.

I want to trade in all the stuff I do not use:

Canon 77D body (I also found a 100D body and 2 Canon EF-S 55-250mm zooms)

Canon EF 28mm f/1.8
Canon EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS
Canon EF 24-105mm f/4 IS
Canon EF 100mm f/2
Canon EF-S 60mm f/2.8 Macro
Canon EF-S 18-55mm 4-5.6 IS STM
Canon EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5
Canon EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 IS

Usually, the camera shops are happier if we trade in for new equipment instead of cash. The only RF-S glass under 300 gms is the:

Canon RF-S 18-45mm F4.5-6.3 IS STM - 130gms

Canon RF-S 55-210mm F5.0-7.1 IS STM - 270 gms

I can get these along with an R50 body and add RF-S 22/f2 and RF-S 11-22/f3.5-5.6 later. Why are the 2 RF-S kit lenses slower than the EF-M kit lenses?

Does this make sense? What are the odds of Canon producing 11-12/3.5-5.6, 22/2, 35/1.4, 50/1.4 glass for the RF-S system any time soon (within a year)?
