Does anyone know if Canon officially claimed that they will not tolerate any 3rd party lenses for the RF mount? I mean...the R was released many years ago by now and we still have no native mount alternatives other than Canons own superexpensive glass. Or the cheapo kit-alternatives which seem to be mediocre at best.

Yes, Viltox seems to have heard about that from them. Might want to contact them if you have questions.

And I disagree about the quality of Canon's stuff (and I wasn't so impressed with Tamron or Sigma's EF offerings). But this has been beat to death. So here's me beating that horse again.

This may sound weird but if this continues I might consider another system and I would hate that. I love what Canon is doing right now in the camera department but if they are going to charge $$$$ for the lenses and force me in that direction, I don't know. Furthermore, I happen to like the warmer rendering from Sigma and Tamron more than Canons own look so there is also that. a

You should buy another system. If you bought Canon assuming that they'd license to third parties then you've made a mistake. You don't love what they're doing with lenses obviously, and that's the important end. Try Sony. Everyone makes lenses for their bodies. Do it before you're current equipment loses even more value. Many have switched; Sony makes great stuff. And don't  make another mistake and think Canon's prices will drop.
