I use Micro Four Thirds equipment but think Canon now has some very interesting, reasonably affordable and decent quality RF equipment that I might just try out. The R7 and R8 bodies are both reasonable in price with very practical features.

The 16mm/2.8, 35mm/1.8 and 100-400mm/5.6 to 8 have all gotten good reviews and these are decently priced and compact. The 15-30mm is interesting to me also.

While their decision to eliminate third party lens providers sounds bad, at least they seem to offer some good lenses in the space those third parties played in previously.

Also note that all camera manufacturers do things to make the third party lens providers less competitive than their options. Canon is just a bit more blunt about it.

Anyway, those are my thoughts. I’ll probably have some affordable Canon equipment before the end of 2023.
