The RF line came into existence 5 years ago. How long did it take Canon to round out its EF lens family? How long did it take Nikon to round out its DSLR lens family? How long did it take Sony to fill its line? Further, how long was it before third party lenses that were worth the money finally show up for the above companies?

We live in an instant gratification world. We want the whole Canon lineup to be filled yesterday, especially the mid priced stuff. In the mean time, the Canon and third party EF lenses I have work BETTER with my R5 than they did with my 5DIV.

I dont think anyones expecting Canon to make everything happen right away. But they could definitely offer more choices to RF shooters by allowing 3rd party AF glass. Yes EF glass works better on RF bodies than on EF bodies. But the last new EF lens came out in 2018. EF glass doesn't take advantage of the shorter registration distance or all the advances in optical design and manufacturing over the last 5 years either. In the end it's a move that only hurts the users.
