Studio shooting question

I have been wanting to use the Fujis in the studio for an occasion portrait or art copywork, and the issue I have is that when I set for a proper flash exposure, the EVF is pitch black, since the flash modeling lights are way less bright than the flash exposure. With an SLR, the viewfinder is always "wide open", so not an issue. Is there way to set the EVF to ignore the actual set exposure and read as "wide open". If not, that sort of renders the camera useless for studio work when using flash. Any info is appreciated.
