Not looked at Fuji for a long time but was in London at the weekend and dropped into the Fuji store for a look around. The X-H2 has 40mp, correct? But when I look at the dpr sample scene they look soft and lacking detail? For 40mp was expecting a lot more?

Why would you expect more detail from higher MP?

Gosh, that's an interesting question, I suppose I just did, what's your thoughts, have I got this wrong, does resolution go down with too many pixels, like I say does diffraction hit a limit at some point, is there some weird physics going on. Curious to know more, but surely Fuji knows what they are doing?

I would say detail stays the same but if you look at 100% in your program, you are getting closer to the image than at 100% at 26mp. That said, if you were to print the images at the same size, once you go over the 26mp image (300dpi) at max size, the 40mp should remain sharper in prints until you hit its max size at 300dpi.

obviously, not taking into account distraction which I personally don’t worry about.
