I think I know the answer to this, but, on an R5, would adding the RF 1.4 or 2x extenders to the RF 100-400 increase weather-sealing slightly?

Obviously, it wouldn’t be weather sealed with the RF 100-400 connection to the extender mount, and it wouldn’t come close to the weather sealing of weather sealed L lenses…but would it have any increased positive effect on protecting the camera body?
I’m assuming if enough of the natural elements (eg moisture, dust, etc.) got into the RF 100-400 it would undoubtedly be a goner. But would the extender also be a goner?M

I think the camera body would be better protected than with the lens alone, but the lens would be just the same, and the extender (expensive) may be at risk. Perhaps use a rain cover…

My speculation is that I agree the use of the extender enhances the sealing of the camera body but not the lenses.   The RF 100-400 is not weather sealed.  I would highly prefer to use a rain cover if only a plastic trash bag in any case involving rain, snow, beach sand or hail.   I always try to be on safe side.  Not all camera bodies are as weather resistant as the high end models (1DX Mk III for example is better sealed with weather sealed lenses than the R7 is)
