The vast majority of the lenses I use on my EOS R that I've had for four years are EF mount. Since buying the camera I've bought one Canon EF L lens, one Canon TS-E L lens, two Canon RF lenses and a third party manual RF mount lens (a fisheye; I was very tempted to buy an EF mount fisheye for twice the price but the size, price and construction were the deciders). I don't feel even a tiny bit "meh" about the adapter; it lets me use most of my lenses on my DSLR and my small (EOS M) cameras too.

Judging on what's happened to the retail prices of some of the Art lenses, Sigma are moving to mirrorless as fast as possible, so won't be developing any DSLR lenses now.  I've never followed Tamron.
