Two things

1. canon have been providing an industry leading support service for free in Europe. Very nice but sadly not good business ! Couldn’t last in 2023 economics.

It never was for "free", it was part of a calculation. You need to invest quite some money to become a CPS member. CPS made me a loyal Canon customer, although I didn't use / needed it much. It mainly gave peace of mind.

2. It is a flea bite compared to changing all your gear….

Fleas transmit diseases. (You saw this answer coming, right?

But at least I won't sell my Canon gear because of a change in CPS. Nevertheless, I'm not happy with the 3rd party lens situation, I might be not happy with CPS changes. So maybe if I feel I need a new lens or a new body I might have a look elsewhere...  Canon currently undermines my loyalty. If I'm the only one, Canon doesn't have to care but maybe I'm not the only one...
