Of course EF is supported, Canon is still trying to sell EF lenses and six models of DSLRs, even if they're not designing any new ones. People aren't buying them, which makes it difficult for Canon to sell them, but EF lenses are definitely supported on both Canon's mirrorless systems and on their video cameras. And Tamron and Sigma EF mount lenses were never welcomed by Canon either, they had to reverse engineer their way in.

Much to the relief of the third party manufacturers. Canon's safest policy here is to completely ignore them unless they steal Canon's IP.
