It’s certainly somewhat disappointing, and I suspect it’s a cost saving measure, but so far in 20 years I’ve not really needed the current CPS benefits as an amateur. So whilst I currently have Platinum status, losing it is not too concerning.

Could be a cost saving strategy. But I really don’t think that there is a need to cut the costs by reducing the service.
I think the profit for Canon last Year was not too bad, isn’t it?!

Is anyone’s? But everyone is hedging their bets on a recession. And they’re probably right. CPS was never a money making machine, it was a service. One they’re now slimming.

Canons been trimming support from CUSA for some time, support reps, online chat, online email support are now all gone or heavily reduced. This is not surprising in hindsight. Regrettable, all of it though.

I can’t see a recession. But a try to use this argument to save more money for future business to get a better market position.

On the other hand, a new way for fishing money out of the market.

That sounds sadly if canon cuts their service in the US. On thing is buying goods, the other thing is service. I am looking for both, good products an a service that fits to the products and their price position. Can’t be so hardšŸ˜‰
