I've had both at one point.

X-T3: AF is quite a bit better if you do any tracking, allows ES-preshot, higher FPS, longer battery life, more customizable controls if you configure the swipes.  Locked diopter knob.  Doesn't need battery grip to access all boost mode features.

X-T2: very marginally smaller and lighter.  Cheaper.

Some like the command dials on the X-T2 better.  I like the X-T3's clickier dials.  I found the X-T2 dials easily clicked by accident unless I made an effort to scroll gently.

IQ is practically identical.  EVF feels identical even if the X-T3's has more dots.

X-T3's shutter count on the EXIF files are actually meaningful, unlike that on the X-T2.

Unless you can find one for *cheap*, there's no reason at all to pick the X-T2.
