Hello out there!
As I have already told you, Alsace is known for its very European high-quality wines, its gastronomy and its special nature in the vineyards and in the mountains. This time we hiked in the pre-spring in a special area known for its spring orchids. The subsoil here is a gigantic calcareous floe, and we have a calcareous nutrient-poor plant-society under our shoes. But it was still too early in the year and we only found 3 orchid specimens.
We started in a small vine village and hiked up the mountains. Here are some pictures. I did no post processing, then it's more for the pixel peepers

Have fun watching!

The plants in the vine yards waiting for beeing cut in a very special manner.

The first trees (wild cherry) and bushed have started to blossom. Many terrestrial insects and amphibians live on these slopes.

The "Hotel de Ville" is not a place to stay, but the town hall. Pixel peepers can watch the peeling paint and "patina" on the clock tower. The lot of "dust specs" in the picture are snowflakes!

A view of an old alley that leads to a winery. Some snow was just coming up.

People love to decorate their houses even if they don't have much money themselves.

Even after 10 years, the SD1 Merrill is a wonderful and suitable instrument for taking pictures that are expressive and unique in terms of color and technology. I don't see any "obsolescence" of the underlying technology here, as has been heavy claimed elsewhere on the forum.

I agree Johannes, and when the FFF finally becomes available, it will work just fine for many years, not only for landscapes and portraits, but for most types of photography, even if it can't compete with some other cameras for dynamic range, focusing speed, shooting speed, resolution, etc. It will be unique in its own way.
