Hi everybody.

I got a newsletter where canon said that they will change my CPS account. In future they will charge for their service🤬.

They say that CPS members who are not professionals, or who do not need the professional service, can choose to be a member of an exclusive Canon ClubšŸ«£ā˜¹ļø

I think about to sell my gear.

What do you think?

You're actually thinking about selling your gear and leaving the Canon ecosystem simply because CPS may be changing their membership policies? IMO that's an incredibly silly and ridiculous reason, but to each his own, I guess.

I think it's stupid and ridiculous to give an answer like yours.
If Canon is giving economic reasons for changing CPS, then why should my reasons, economically motivated, be any more stupid than Canon's!!!
If I, as a private person, spend a small fortune on my hobby, I can at least expect to continue to be offered a certain level of service.
Apart from the ridiculously low warranty for the cameras, one of the decisive reasons was Canon's "we care" service philosophy, in my opinion.
This also included a "preferred service" regarding the processing time in case of a repair.
The fact that other camera manufacturers do not offer more or better service does not make the matter any better.
It's just a hobby and I decide for what and how long I invest my money in a manufacturer.
