For me it would simply depend on AF needs and video.

For commercial video obviously go for the T3 if you have the editing gear and demand for video work. For AF I guess the T3 will be better in continuous high shooting.

Otherwise for single shot (how I shoot) It would for me just be a matter of condition, shutter count and price. If the new one handles as well or better and the price difference wasn't much, no reason not to go for it. If on a budget and video and high speed AF (the T2 is no slouch the reviews it got on release are still real now) not a concern you go with your wallet

In my country the difference for mint condition used low shutter count and boxed is £499 for the T2 VS £699 for the T3. For my needs (street, travel, doc, some events) I'd get the T2. If I was shooting commercial sports or wildlife I'd get the T3 for the better AF or the T5 simply for the IBIS.

It really boils down to AF and Video T2 4k 30p / T3 4k 60p....

Not a real lot in it.

Image quality seems the same - Fujifilm X-T3 Review: Digital Photography Review (dpreview.com)

Buffer may be better?  AF works in -3ev could be useful.  Yeah for me if commercial T3, if not T2.  Simples.
