These types camera are what I see as replacing most Point and Shoot and or Bridge camera types. I don't see most Brands continuing those types cameras in any meaningful way. Plus what's left, many are way to expensive for what they are. So if this camera delivers based on what I think I know about what level of performance it will give, it should be a winner for Canon.

Had the same thought, and hence my comment about buying what’s out vs what’s not. Was alluding to a possible power shot upgrade, but I feel that’s unlikely. That’s where you’ve got the R50, R8, and everyone else. Pick.
