Will there be an R7 Mk II ?

A crystal ball just rolled onto my front porch! Upon looking into it, I see a R7X in the future; a more professional APS-C body (available grip, faster read times etc.) This would leave room for a lower priced R7 Mark II a couple of years after.

Let's see if we can help you out. Can't you just hold the camera mostly with the left hand on the lens? I'm not sure my little finger fits much on the camera either, but I've never actually noticed. I could lend you my M6 II for training, and after that, the R6 would feel huge.

Okay, so with every other camera I've ever had, they all had grips, and hand straps. So when I went to pick up my camera, I just stuck my hand the the grip, wrapped "all" my fingers around the front of the camera, and by the time I went to carry the camera anywhere, my grip pressure had dropped off by like 80%, as with that hand strap, my hand was practically locked to the camera..... I could almost forget I was holding a camera, and still not drop it. That's what I got used to. Nowadays, I do 95% of my shooting from a tripod anyway, and my R7 + 800 F1, or now maybe even my 600 F11, is so darn light, I often carry it by the top of the tripod posts, with the neck strap wrapped around my gimbal (for added safety if something should come loose)

But even when I'm shooting... On a tripod no less, I just HATE the dangling little finger ! There has to be a solution, and I'm going to figure it out.

If you'll excuse me, you might want to take an objective look at it. Basically, it is weird. The little finger is even less important on the tripod. But maybe a little time spent with a Leica or F1.

I used to carry an SL1 with a 400 mm lens by one hand (or even just a couple of fingers). It felt quite secure. But I wouldn't do that without a strap. I guess if you usually carry a camera with one hand, you do need the strap.
