So my trusty EOS R is starting to show it's age. The shutter count is almost 200k, it's developed a bit of an issue where the SD card doesn't 'click' into place so I'm pondering a replacement rather than pay to fix it.

Like most people I regularly lust after the shiny shiny stuff, R6ii's and R5's but truth be told the R has way way exceeded what I expected from it. It was a huge upgrade from the 6D it replaced, particularly in terms of auto-focus. Honestly, I've not once been disappointed with it. It's robust, the AF is good, the IQ is great and it handles well.

I'd always imagined at this point I'd upgrade but honestly, with a brand new R available as an import these days at under £1300 I just might buy another one.

The weather seals are hard to beat in its price range.  You don't get the build quality until you go to the R5,  Magnesium chassis in it, too?

The auto subject tracking AF is the only upgrade I would want that the R doesn't have.
