Question is - would people pay a R5 price for a loaded APSC camera?

$3500 - $4000?

I doubt they would pay that price but people are paying $2500 for crop camera’s with stacked sensors and loaded with pro features. I just don’t think Canon wants to offer something like that because it would for sure cut into R5 sales.

Not sure hiw much that would matter. There will still be the obvious FF/APS-C differentiator. Then there is volume to take in not consideration. If volumes are high enough they will make their profit from lenses, accessories and cloud services as well as printers.

Yes there is that differentiator but reality is that even APS-c delivers excellent image quality for a large variety of situations and if you can easily get the job you’re trying to do with a $2500 camera, you’ll probably not be nearly as tempted to buy a $3500 camera.

I for one would.
Although the R7 is now around 1500 dollars or euros, so a more pro R7 II in an R5 type body might be closer to 2500.
