I have a X100V new and I've already put actuations on the shutter so I don't know what it had from the factory new but the count seems high for what I've shot. I don't have access to it right now to check if the image numbering matches the shutter counter. I was told by fujifilm USA tech support that the X100 series does 1 actuation for turning on and one for turning off since the leaf shutter opens and closes on power on and off. I haven't verified this first hand. Also something about using first curtain mode clocks in 2 shutter actuations per photo. Not sure about other non photo taking camera functions that might also increment the shutter counter.
According to the manual "Other actions may also increment the counter, for example turning the camera off, changing the viewfinder display selection, or choosing playback mode."

Sounds to me like there is a difference between "shutter actuations" and pictures taken. It may be that most are mistaken in thinking they measure the same. Any time the shutter opens or closes - counts as actuation even I'm an image is not shot. A actuation is anytime the shutter is directed to move my the camera. Since taking an image requires the shutter to open and then close that that could as two actuations. In reality a mirrorless requires the shutter to close, when the shutter is pressed and the charged dumped so the sensor can record the image. Then the shutter opens and closes to take the image. Finally the shutter opens again to supply the VF with the next potential image.
So it is important to know how Fuji counts these movements of the shutter in its statistics. I'm not sure they tell us.
