I have a X100V new and I've already put actuations on the shutter so I don't know what it had from the factory new but the count seems high for what I've shot. I don't have access to it right now to check if the image numbering matches the shutter counter. I was told by fujifilm USA tech support that the X100 series does 1 actuation for turning on and one for turning off since the leaf shutter opens and closes on power on and off. I haven't verified this first hand. Also something about using first curtain mode clocks in 2 shutter actuations per photo. Not sure about other non photo taking camera functions that might also increment the shutter counter.

A couple of points.

1. The X100V reports shutter counts in increments of 500.

2. There are several actions which will cause a shutter actuation, but a lot of mirrorless do two Mechanical shutter actuations per photo. Here is how it works:

- Shutter is open so the sensor can see through the lens.
- Taking the photo involves closing the shutter, opening to start the exposure, and closing to stop the exposure.
- Shutter opens again so you can see through the lens again.

So each photo is close, open, close, and open. This has been true since the X-Pro1.

I'm not sure how electronic first curtain affects this, but the X100V doesn't have one because the shutter is in the lens. It's not a selectable shutter type like it is in my X-T5.

4. Assuming the camera is new, does even 50 shutter counts matter in a camera that can reliably take hundreds of thousands of photos.
