I happened to have an R10 sitting on my desk when I saw some posts in this thread this afternoon. So I fetched a flash unit from my cabinet and plugged it into the hot shoe to see if it worked OK. It did. No problem. I noticed there are also some subtle changes to the flash menu.

Yes, I have confirmed on this forum that EX series flashes fit and work in the new style hotshoe on the R10 (which I have). I was referring to the multi-connector at the front of the shoe on the R50, which will require the adapter.
