They will probably eventually launch an RF equivalent, but there is no news on that yet.

An RF camera will treat your EF(-S) lens natively, and you get the various mirrorless advantages with those lenses. And the adapter only adds back the space that was there on the DSLR, so mirrorless + adapter + lens isn't any bigger than your old setup.

As another user mentioned, drop-in filter adapters (personally, I have a Kolari one with Kolari and Breakthrough filters) are also available and let you stick filters on any EF(-S) lens. A nice bonus capability if you get that too, though most of the time I just use the regular adapter.

In short... You have the EF-S lenses. They are 100% compatible with the R7 (and they actually work better with it). If you are happy with the EF-S lenses, just keep using them. You could always get a different lens later if you are interested or one intrigues you.

This is definitely the right answer. Definitely go for the adapter and make more of your existing lenses than is possible with a DSLR. I've had an EOS R for four years now and my only RF lenses are those with no EF equivalent. It's still early days for RF mount (and even earlier days for RF-S) so the best is yet to come. Having said that, I don't think the RF-S range will ever be as comprehensive as the EF-S range had to be when full-frame was relatively much more expensive than it is now. And the R7 is a gateway to full-frame lenses which will cry out for a full-frame body...
