I also agree this discussion is not about winning an argument by any means, just a discussion on personal preferences and probably requirement on different shooting styles.

Nonetheless, please allow me to share a photo taken in lovely Lisbon, Portugal last summer. A town famous of her historical trams anywhere and everywhere. This is a shot of a tram seen on a bus, kinda fun pic I captured there!

Can you tell when looking at this picture what shutter mode was used here? MS or EFCS or ES? Quite hard, right? Does it look good to you?

I do understand the worries of shutter shock (probably an issue for birders) or rolling shutter (when a baseball bat looks like a banana), but those photographers really need to take care of their camera shutter setup. Normally I hope the choosing of shutter mode is not a issue regardless of what setting is chosen. YMMV.
