I have the original Tamron 150-600 and R7 and R6. It is pretty hit or miss and slowish with R6 along with some weird pulsing with closer subjects. Its basically useless on the R7. Someone did tell me before the update with Tamron helps, but Im seeing mixed stuff on that. Ive been planning on sending it in but there hasnt been a great time to be without it, and, like I said, Im not very optimisitic based on what Ive seen. The RF 100-500 is kind of the obvious solution but its not doable for me now in terms of cost.

The other option would be selling and buying the G2 150 - 600, but my guess is that isnt much better. Does anyone know if the G2 is better with my bodies? Other ideas. Mostly for shooting birds and whatever other wildlife I happen to see.

The only thing that worked with my original version Tamron 150-500mm on the R7 was video.  I wasn't interested in video so I sold it.
