Chris;....Old Dog here.  I had the R5 about a year before the R7,  which I bought as soon as it came out.  For the last several months I've been shooting little Yard-Birds and Moons (conditions permitting).  and I've just totally fallen for the R7 for, especially, these uses.  I love the extra reach of the R7 and the AF system is fantastic.  I also like the ergonomics and use that vertical wheel for + - Exposure Comp which is especially useful for moon shooting.

Of course the R5 is a superior camera-- no need to go into well known details on this.  I have RF100-400, RF600mm, and finally broke down and bought the RF 100-500L too--  fantastic lens.  I now use the R5 for interior shooting, Grand Kids w/ 24-240, and landscapes when I can get out.  For little birds, i do sometimes use the R5 with the 600mm f11 when light is good.

If I could only have one camera body-- well, it would be an extremely difficult decision to make.  Yeah, I like the R7 that much.  But as I can afford both, I'll be happy to keep both.
