Re: What should I buy???

I would look at the R its not the best but better than a few others a good starting point. There are 3 different ef-rf adapters. The std one about $100 and the control ring one at about $140 last time. The 3rd is a filter adapter, if you use a filters it might be worth checking out.

I bought the R on its release and still have it, have a strong attachment to it. I also picked up the R6 because the R is VERY good at portraits and landscapes but not things that move. I also have the first two adapters listed above.

One of the really cool things about the R system is the control ring. At front of each lens is a control ring that you can assign to just about anything via the body. This makes the control ring adapter sorta cool. The only problem is you must remove your hand from the lens and move back to the control next to the body. EVERY time I did this I lost my comp. YES I know another one of those damn first world things.

It took me a bit over 2 years to convert my EF lenses to RF but it was worth it. With the RF bodies and lenses focus is perfect every time EXCEPT when I screw up With the EF system on the critical shots, I always took 3 shots just to make sure, goes back to film days.

Let me add that Canon has a line of inexpensive lens that are great for the money.  I have moved over to them for the weight saving and replacement cost if lost of dropped.  I only have one L now the rf 70-200 f4 which I will keep for ever
