I do own a Canon EF 600 mm F4 Model II and have successfully used it with my eos R5 with TWO 2X teleconverter with a 12 mm extension tube between them. I do then get a 3840 mm reach with the 1,6X factor crop, the R5 allows. (600mm X2 = 1200mm X2 = 2400 mm X1,6 = 3840 mm.)
I does keep focusing and the eye tracking is still functioning. Believe it or not!!! I have pictures to prove it! Look at the link below :

Now I'd like to upgrade my lens to an Rf version and I am wondering :
Question #1 : Is it possible to stack TWO 2X RF teleconverters together?
I have read somewhere that one would need a 24 mm extension tube to do so.
Question #2 : Is it right? (A 24 mm extension tube is the right lenght?)
But I have not found any brand of teleconverter that would have a hole large enough to allow the insertion of the TC in it.
Question #3 : If a 24 mm extensin tube is necessary : what brand will allow the stacking of the TCs?
Thanks in advance for your help!!
If you can find a genuine RF 2x teleconverter, you could measure (a) how far the front element protrudes from the front flange, and (b) how far the rear element protrudes, or is recessed, from the rear flange (I see there is a protective ridge at the back). With those two measurements you should be able to calculate the length needed between them. They clearly aren’t designed to be stacked and retain infinity focus.
Why change your EF 600/4 if you have a working solution?
