No virtual C1-3 options like the R5. Handy to map something like MF-n to it. I miss that the most.

I would have preferred 30mp but I'm getting great images with 24. 30 was the sweet spot with my 5D4 and R but no real complaints. Sometimes you can just tell with one shot. I liked it right away.

Had to buy SD cards. I would have preferred to allocate that to beer.

Low light performance is very good.

Good AF. The new options to use eye AF with single point, etc modes is excellent. Also customizing the 3 zone AF size can be handy.

Expanded button mapping in the Detail Sets offer more functionality.

ES fps options. Something the R5 should have had. Also ES simulated sound. It's a little irritating but you can turn it down a notch. Another ½ notch would have been nice.

Two things.

  1. Battery life is horrible for me. Your milage may vary. But shooting sports I was eating batteries much faster than my old Nikon D750. I purchased a BG-R10 to help with this.

Yes, no mirrorless is as good with batteries as a DSLR. I have managed to get over 5000 shots on half a battery charge with my R7, but that's shooting a lot of 15fps and 8fps bursts.

  1. I would like the screens to act more like an optical view finder and rear display on DSLRs. Meaning I don't like the proximity detector that will switch between the two screens. When I'm not taking a pic and the camera is just hanging I would like the screen to be off. I also don't need to see my last picture I was viewing in the electronic view finder. Maybe there is a setting for this, but I've been caught a few times looking at pics only to have to bring my camera to my eye and see the same pic in the view finder. Stop that!!!!

You can change settings to avoid this (you've probably discovered that by now).

Other than the, the best camera I've owned and a pleasure to be back with Canon.
