Canon R5 and sports: AF problems (kind of urgent)

Hello everyone. I own a Canon R5. I'm a sports photographer, mostly Football (soccer for the Americans).

The R5 is a great camera. The only thing that sometimes causes me problems it's the AF. Let me explain it: it happens to me to nail the focus on the player while is shooting or running, the second later the camera loses the focus (focuses on another player or blurs the whole frame), then it re-acquires it, but the right moment is already gone, costing me to miss the right shot.

About my equipment: I shoot with a Sigma 120-300 2.8 (s) + the EF-RF adapter of course.

My settings on the camera: H+ mode with electronic shutter (20 fps), IBIS and OS off, AF mode face tracking, subject to detect:people, eye detection enabled, continuos AF:disabled, switching tracked subject:0 (priority on already tracked subject), lens drive when AF impossible:on, initial servo AF pt  for face tracking: center (moved up a little).

I switched between case 1, case 2 and case 4 (tracking sensitivity levels between: 0 and -2, accel./decel. tracking between +1 and -1).

I disabled the focusing ability for the shutter button. I focus with the AF back-button and I keep it pressed during the whole burst in order to track the subject movement.

Thanks in advance to everybody for the suggestions and advices.

I apologize for my bad english, it's not my first language.

Cheers

Canon EOS R5 Sigma 120-300mm F2.8 EX DG OS HSM
