I am not arguing that smaller pixels are better in all cases. I am just challenging the argument that smaller pixels are inherently nosier in all cases.

No one said that anyway.  We made it very clear that noise is an issue in lower light settings where higher ISOs are used.  In those settings, which are quite common shooting conditions, smaller pixels will result in more noise than larger pixels.  Period.

When there’s plenty of light, noise isn’t an issue and you reap the benefits of the resolution of higher pixel counts without any noise penalty.
