It's a big plus to have a cameras system with which you can use/adapt a wide variety of lens brands/formats.

It is. (I adapt Canon FD and EF, Contax/Yashica, Leica screw, Nikon F, Olympus Pen and OM, Pentax screw and M lenses to my Canon mirrorless cameras)

If ever Canon does end EF support then that will be the end of my support of them.

Canon FL lenses launched from 1964-74 work just as well on RF mount as they ever did on FL mount, admittedly on third party adapters. FD lenses launched from 1971-89 lose their Tv automatic exposure mode on RF mount. Even though Canon increased the flange distance for the 1987 EF mount to accommodate oversized mirrors, they produced an FD lens adapter. It wasn't liked as it was effectively a teleconverter and people objected to both the glass and the expense, but it wasn't Canon that abandoned FD mount, it was the buyers - the T60 was introduced in 1990 and they launched their last FD lens a year after its EF version.

I really can't see the point of all this Fear Uncertainty and Doubt.
