if Canon and Nikon's decision to block 3rd party lenses on their cameras will prompt Sigma to move forward with new Sigma cameras? Now their market has shrunk. Any thoughts?

I wonder if their moves will backfire and they find a drop in the take-up of the respective systems due to higher prices. Ah, greed! Where once there [may have been] a profit margin, now there's only profiteering!

Humph14.

Who is profiteering, and what does it entail?

Absolutely everybody...

Entail? trying to maximise profit by nefarious mean, such as locking out competition and thereby limiting the choice consumers [think they] have... - Fish in barrels...- That sort of thing, you know... Think too, privatisation >>> privateering...

The camera market has been in substantial decline for many years - camera-makers are struggling for survival.  Hard to see that a company not opening up proprietary intellectual property to competitors is somehow nefarious.
