Since taking photography seriously in about 2015 I've had a D5300, 5DII, X-100-T, SL1, SL2, X-T2...

Can't say the photos are much different in terms of IQ in all honesty but will say the X-T2 is my favourite in terms of handling and the SL2 and X-T2 were hands down the best for JPEG SOOC shooting and again Canon and Fuji best for APSC lens selection with Fuji being better but also more expensive, but a better selection for sure.

So the X-T2 is my bestie but not really for camera IQ only handling and lenses

I recently went through my back catalogue and found some decent but badly composed images where I just hadn't time to get close enough (I mostly use a 23mm on APSC) but the new LR has this enhance details feature and I thought I'd give it 'a spin.'

I thought it would be naff to be honest but I got this from a 24mp image that when cropped was tiny like maybe 900x800 or something at 200dpi lol.  It is a HUGE crop

LR enhance details turned it into a TIFF andf then ran it through SEFX PRO2 in CS6 and saved as 23mp file with 15MB at I think 250 DPI!

This makes the case I guess for more MP and the new sensors but I rarely shoot that bad usually that I need mega crops so in the meantime until they come down a lot in price LR works, haven't tried with colour yet

Anyhow bit of a ramble there but sounds like you've been enjoying your photography which is the main thing!
