Well, there you go. Bought another lens for a reportedly deadman walking system...

Now, ask me what lens has me with the biggest woody in a long time.

Nice !

The camera mounts that will not mount the Sigma 56mm are deadman walking systems to me !

Oooh and those 3 control dials on the camera too If only had a joystick and eye-AF like the R10

Right ?

My M50II had good eye focus but I only used it for test shots.

For real shots I Iike the whole face to be in focus.

One eye in focus and one eye out of focus bugs me so I go for nose focus.

The eye focus features are for newbees ?

LOL - I'm no pro but not really a newbie

Eye tracking AF is transformational in the modern R series for action photography - not just faces but animals, bird in flight all sorts of subjects, intended and unintended.

YMMV

What is the lowest priced lens that can keep up with the new fast eye focus tracking ?

That you have used.

The Canon website says they are using a RF 50mm f/1.2 L for the focus performance tests ?

The DPR studio scene tests for all the R cameras so far were also done with that lens.

Who would put a $2000 lens on a R50 ?

This was just point and push the button.
